Do Good Work: Four Tet, Bicep, MJC, Brenmar and Mack Blajik

Posted on Monday, September 24th, 2012 at 6:23 pm

Yet another post, with no particular main focus. Honestly, I have the most ADHD

when it comes to listening to music. Anyway I have a bunch of music to show you guys.

Hope you enjoy.

Let’s start off with Maya Jane Coles, at Space, in Ibiza. It’s only fit that she deliver one of the most chilling mixes to close out the summer season in Ibiza. We’re pretty lucky they recorded this…Just sayin.

Bicep keeps putting out these fantastic tracks. It almost seems like every week there’s a new Bicep joint out on soundcloud. Check out his newest Record called “Keep Keep”.  Those synths that kick in around 2.40 remind me of a Jonas Rathsman track. Also he’s playing here in DC, October 5th, at U-Street Music Hall. So I’m going to try and do a review of his show and tell you guys how it is.

When I saw that SCNTST did a remix of “I’m Da Shit” by Gucci Mane. I was half expecting some time of minimal trap record. Instead I got this mad experimental, Flying Lotus sounding track, that’s actually pretty dope. This sounds like it should be on that Free Gucci Mixtape that Diplo did a while back. Anyway this song is a free download, which is pretty rare from his soundcloud. Enjoy the Vibes.

Brenmar released his newest single today titled “Children Of The Night” and features some insane vocals from Kaleena Zanders. The track itself doesn’t fit into any particular EDM genre, something which I really respect about this track. It’s honestly just a highly danceable track. Anyway if you love the song the Itunes purchase link is below the sound cloud. Oh and check our interview with Brenmar here if you havent.

Matthew Dear has really got some quality artists releasing records on his label “Ghostley”. This latest release is a FourTet remix. The track itself is very minimal but the vocals just add this melodic trance to it.

I don’t know how this next track got on my Itunes but it just came on shuffle the other day and I was pretty much in awe. Mack Blajik doesn’t have  alot of material out but the stuff that he does have out sounds very good. The track is unlike no deep house I have ever heard. Check the track out with the free download.

Mack Blajik – Tonight (Original Mix)

Well, Paper Diamond has officially blew my mind with this track right here. You really need good speakers or headphones to fully appreciate this amazing track. VERY HEAVY TRAP.

Paper Diamond – The 40 Thieves

So RL Grime did a 30 minute Boiler room set, once you put it on, it’s very hard to turn it off. The track selection never lets you sit still. I mean if you start with Pop That by Frenchie, you’re going to have a good time.

Anyway that’s it
